How to find your true name? Ask your kids!
MonkeyBoy, my budding naturalist, announced one day that he had figured out what I was (although I hadn't been aware that there was any question!)
So, despite my previous ignorance regarding the question, I have been informed that the answer is that I, am a Mother Caiman (a type of tropical lizard).
Apparently, when the mother Caimans take their 'herds' of babies to the watering hole there generally isn't enough room for all the mothers to stay and watch their babies. One mother will then volunteer to watch all the babies, while the other mothers go hunt and attend to such responsibilities as weigh on the shoulders of a maternal herp. MonkeyBoy watched a nature special by which he became aware of this fact, and subsequently announced that he had figured out that I was a mother Caiman, because I am always hanging with all the kids.
I wonder if that would make the Caiman Lizard my spirit animal as well?
